Welcome to the About Residency Aesthetics page. I’m Mechelle Barras—Registered Nurse and 7-figure med spa owner. Today, I coach spa CEOs who are ready to reinvent their businesses and their lives.
My journey didn’t begin in aesthetics. In fact, I spent twenty years in law enforcement, retiring as a police sergeant. After that season of service, I went back to school, became a licensed esthetician, and later a registered nurse. Eventually, I opened Pure Image Laser and Spa with my business partner, and together we scaled it into a thriving seven-figure company.
However, there was no clear roadmap. No mentor. No proven system. Instead, I learned through trial, error, and thousands of dollars spent on training that never prepared me for real business success. As a result, I created Residency Aesthetics—to be the guide I never had.
The Evolution of a Leader
Mentorship has always mattered to me. Through coaching, I experienced incredible growth. Over time, I realized I wasn’t only a student—I was already a leader.
I had built a profitable med spa and helped other mid-life women shift their mindset, refine their strategies, and scale their businesses. At one point, I even stepped into a coaching role for someone I deeply respected, guiding their clients through life- and business-changing breakthroughs.
Eventually, I understood my value went far beyond an hourly rate. Therefore, I made the decision to step fully into my own expertise. It was time to focus on my vision, my leadership, and the impact I was meant to create.
What I Do Now
Today, I help med spa owners stop spinning their wheels and start building sustainable, profitable businesses. Whether you want to scale, exit, or sell, you need more than skills—you need strategy.

In addition, my mission goes beyond business alone. Many mid-life women face the same challenges as spa CEOs. That’s why I coach women one-on-one, helping them rebuild confidence, reset priorities, and step into a new season of life.

What’s Next
